Mike McKinney Triumphs at Sycamore Speedway


Maple Park, IL — June 15 — Mike McKinney picked up his second career win with the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals in dominating fashion on Friday night in front of a packed house at the Sycamore Speedway. The Plainfield, IL driver of the 96M jumped to an early lead and was only challenged once during the middle laps of the race by Steven Brooks. Brooks would go on to finish in 2nd.

Harrison Goes Back to Back with Kankakee Victory



Mike Harrison Becomes Repeat Winner After Kankakee County Speedway Victory 


KANKAKEE, IL (June 14) — Once again Highland, IL’s Mike Harrison brought home the Summit Modified Nationals victory in commanding fashion. In what could be considered “the move of the night”, Harrison jumped to the lead on lap 1 and never looked back on his was to his 2nd victory in 2 nights.


“I knew the first last was going to be the most critical lap. We went into the race with a game plan and it paid off. We were able to get out ahead of everyone before they got rolling and it worked out. I saw McKinney coming on the bottom and wondered if I needed to get down there but it all worked out,” Mike Harrison said when asked about his strategy going into the feature event.


Mike McKinney finished in the 2nd position in another strong showing by the Plainfield, IL native. McKinney mounted a mid-race charge on Harrison on the bottom half of the track. Jamie Lomax of Lake Village, IN overcame motor issues from earlier in the week with a strong 3rd place finish in the feature event. Tyler Nicely and Donovan Lodge finished out the top 5.

PEORIA, IL — June 13 — Highland, IL-native Mike Harrison grabbed the early lead from the outside pole position to win the 2018 Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals opening event at Peoria Speedway (IL). The 2017 Tour Champion was able to expertly navigate lap traffic to go unchallenged in the 25-lap caution-free Feature event. The win marked a clean sweep for Harrison for the opening night that included a win in Heat race 2 and Quick Time in Qualifying group 2.

Summit Modified Nationals Start in Just Three Weeks

Peoria Speedway kicks off the 8th annual Modified Tour in support of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals

CONCORD, NC — May 25, 2018 — The Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals will support the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour for the eighth consecutive year in 2018. From June 13 to July 14, and then on July 27-28, the premier drivers and teams within the DIRTcar Modified ranks will race in 33 total events spread out over seven states throughout the country. The open-wheel teams will go after a minimum of $1,000-to-win each night and a $5,000 top prize for winning the 2018 Summit Modified Nationals Championship Title as well as bonuses and contingencies totaling almost $50,000.

I-96 Speedway Added to Schedule 


4/10-mile dirt oval in West Michigan will wrap up two-race stretch in the Great Lakes State


CONCORD, NC — March 19, 2018 — A final adjustment to the 33rd Annual DIRTcar Summer Nationals schedule was put into place with the addition of the I-96 Speedway on Thursday, July 12th. The DIRTcar Super Late Models and UMP Modifieds will wrap up their Michigan swing with a date at the 4/10-mile (0.400) high-banked dirt oval located east of Grand Rapids in Lake Odessa, MI. This event will be the first appearance at I-96 for the Summer Nationals and Summit Modified Nationals since the 2014 season.
